Anesthesia Department is an important
part of the hospital and offers multidimensional and multi-disciplinary
support to general and cancer patients of the hospital . It also
provides specialized pain relieving clinic for the cancer patients. The
department is equipped with necessary patient monitoring and other
support system for major and minor surgeries. The
Anaesthesia department has been one of the basic facilities which
existed from the inception of the hospital and has grown in leaps &
bounds to match the emerging needs of modern surgical needs. In the
year 2003-04 the department provided anaesthesia support to above 3500
patients for major/minor surgeries. Complicated cases were 2500, which
were diagnosed as Toxaemia, Uraemia, shock severe dehydration, Heart
diseases etc.
The major surgeries included Cholecystectomy, appendisectomy,
Mastectomy, TURP, Fistulectomy, Fissurectomy, Pyelolithotomy, etc. Minor
surgeries included Breast abscess, D&C, EUA, Polypectomy and biopsy.
Major Surgeries in Obstetrics & Gynaecology included LSCS, classical
aesarean, hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy, Laprotomy, Diagnostic
Laproscopy and Mc Donald.
