Birthing Program At Kamala Nehru, we consider birth as a physiological process guided by nature and believe that interference in this process is harmful, unless there is clear evidence that proves the intervention to be beneficial. The Birthing Program at Kamala Nehru is a nine-month comprehensive program emphasizing education and empowerment as key elements for a fulfilling journey to motherhood. The program offers care during pregnancy, delivered by our multi-disciplinary team of obstetricians, educators, nutritionist, physiotherapists, pediatricians and nurses. The program is divided into three trimesters (Confirm the spelling) covering the entire nine months of pregnancy and enrollment can be at any time during 1st and 2nd trimesters, up to sixth month of pregnancy. Labor and delivery care at Kamala Nehru aims to provide a safe and satisfying birth that supports normalcy of the birth experience. It encourages inclusion of the father or others as desired by the woman for providing support during labor. It provides for continuous physical and emotional support that helps reduce the need for medical intervention and improves infant outcomes. Post-delivery, all mothers are given lactation counseling support, as recommended by WHO's baby-friendly hospital initiative. Mothers are informed about post-discharge care and follow-up visits. The Department has a special care Neonatal Unit and a Paediatric ward. The two Consultants and two house surgeons supported by a team of well-trained nursing staff provide round the clock services for the new born babies. The Neonatal Unit has been progressively upgraded from level I to level II.
