Post martum programme of the Hospital provides facilities for Family Planning counseling, sterilization - both Laparoscopic and non Laparoscopic (abdominal & vaginal), immunization for ante natal cases and other birth spacing methods. The Center participated and organized several National Programmes in Reproductive Health Care wiz Immunization, Tetanus Drive, Family Health Care Camps and Training of Para-Medicals.
Reproductive Health Allahabad-Asrha (Action For Slum - Dwellers')
The CARE sponsored project aimed to improve the reproductive health status of women and men living in 50 slums of Allahabad, U.P. by 2004. The goal of the project was to eliminate poverty by reducing reproductive health related morbidity and mortality among men and women in city slums. The Programme covered 7075 eligible couples residing in 50 slums of Allahabad City. The strategy and achievements of the project are following:

- 99 Women Health Volunteers (WHVs) and 56 Men Health Volunteers (MHVs) were selected (2-3 per slum) and trained on reproductive health issues (safe motherhood, RTIs/STIs, HIV/AIDS, cancer, birth spacing, self-esteem, sexuality and reproductive rights), maintenance of records, conducting meetings at their Centers, etc. Total 125 women groups were formed which included 1625 women.
- About 60 per cent men were involved through IPC at all stages of the project in order to encourage attitudinal and behavioral change regarding safe sex, child spacing and male responsibility and support to women in early treatment and management of their reproductive health problems.
- 50 WHC and 68 RCH were established.
- d) The Adolescent Clinic established at KNMH, provided an opportunity to the adolescents to freely discuss their problems with the Gynaecologist and Counselor.
- Total 37 Community Development Committees known as Basti Vikas Samiti (BVS), were formed which addressed the Development needs of the community.
