maternal and child health care in India, Kamla Nehru has the distinction
of being the largest women's hospital in Asia. It has a
distinguished history of providing extensive health care services to
women and children in the field of obstetric and gynecology, neonatology
and family welfare.
Rendering its service for than half century, the hospital
was recognized as Regional Institute of Mother & Child Health by
Government of India in 1992. The hospital has played a leading role
in amalgamation of frontline technology innovation and modernization to
provide comprehensive health care to the people at the grass root level.
Advances in biomedical knowledge and technology have been applied
quickly to improve maternal and child health care, as evidenced by
survival at increasingly low birth weights and early gestational age.
With its committed efforts, Kamla Nehru Hospital has been
Centre of Excellence for Reproductive Health and Oncology. With its
state of art facility for reproductive health care, the organization has
been serving the densely populated region of eastern Uttar Pradesh, which
has the highest rate of infant and maternal mortality. Apart from
treatment, the department organizes seminars for educating people on
child behavior maternal health and well-being, child safety,
immunization, breast feeding, nutrition and family planning. The Hospital
has earned public recognition for its services in this part of the
country and has been at the forefront for bringing cutting edge
technology in Medical Care for public cause as a charitable non-profit
